Pedology: genesis and evolution of soils

This program is based not only on state education standards but also on innovations and cutting-edge technologies in pedology. Teaching techniques are constantly updated which keeps the quality of education high and competitive comparing to the leading pedology departments in Russia.
The "Genesis and evolution of soils" program aims to train specialists able to deal with the study of composition, properties, and genesis of soils as the part of the biosphere, conducting activities in areas of agrochemistry and soil studies, with organization and realization of field and soil-and-ecological observations and measurement with using modern technological means, analysis of agriculture production and use of fertilizers, activities, and enhancement of soil use efficiency, development of optimal parameters of soil fertility, creation of soil-reclamation, soil-engineering, soil-landscape projects, and others.
The program includes the following main subjects: pedology, the geography of soils, biogeochemistry, agrochemistry, soil chemistry, soil physics, physical-and-chemical analysis of soils, land management, agricultural chemistry, modeling of soil processes.
The program is intended to provide qualified employees for the Russian Academy of Sciences, centers for environmental pollution control, agrochemical labs, projects, and enterprises.
Required documents (to be submitted online):
1) a passport copy;
2) a high school certificate copy (OR a registrar-issued transcript of grades for the last semester); upon arrival students must provide the admissions committee with an original document;
NOTE! documents received in a foreign country are submitted legalized in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Russian Federation, or with the apostille (except when, in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation and (or) international treaty legalization and apostille are not required)
3) certified translation of the diploma and the passport into Russian language (can be submitted upon arrival)
4) a completed application form (online)
5) other diplomas and certificates proving any other achievements (if available)
6) entrance exams:
- written test in Biology
- written test in the Russian language
