The program provides trainees with fundamental classical linguistic education in reliance to foreign languages. Having acquired the necessary complex skills in linguistics, field-specific methodology, translation, and cultural studies, students will be able to continue their careers as members research or teaching staff or translators. The program aims to give a comprehensive study of the main foreign language in theoretical, applied, and communicative aspects, as well as literature and culture of the country of the studied language; it prepares students for research, translation (written, consecutive translation, etc.), and work in the field of intercultural communication. The program includes the following main subjects: history, philosophy, information technologies in linguistics, linguistics, theory of language, theory of translation, economic/legal translation, technical translation, practical course in consecutive interpretation, and so on. Additionally, TSU collaborates with translation agencies in Tomsk. Upon completion, students will learn how to work with various types of texts (artistic, journalistic, official, business, scientific texts, etc.) and how to properly contribute to linguistic, interpersonal, and interethnic written and oral communication.

1) copy of passport
2) copy of high school certificate/a registrar-issued transcript of grades for the last semester; upon arrival, students must provide the Admission Office with an original document
NOTE! documents received outside of Russia must be endorsed in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Russian Federation, or with an apostille (except when endorsement is not required by the legislation of the Russian Federation and (or) an international treaty)
3) certified translation of the diploma and the passport into the Russian language (can be submitted upon the arrival)

5) other diplomas and certificates proving any other achievements (if any)
6) entrance exams:
- written test in Foreign language proficiency
- written test in Russian language proficiency
