Translational Chemical and Biomedical Technologies 

This Master's Program reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the results of the developing chemical disciplines with an emphasis on further application in biomedical sphere. The program implies combining chemical and biotechnological approaches to the development and application of new chemical substances, biomedical materials and modern diagnostic and therapeutic methods. The program provides the students with knowledge of modern methods of chemical synthesis for new materials, Genetic Engineering, Cell and Molecular Biology, Protein Biochemistry, Immunology, Confocal and Quantitative Microscopy, Chromatography, Clinical Research, Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, and other innovative research areas.

  • Fundamentals of biochemical technology. Introduction to the science of polymers and biocompatible composite materials.

  • Chemical methods of obtaining biologically active compounds and industrial synthesis of biomedical materials.
  • Fundamentals of Immunology.
  • Modern methods of assessing the pharmacological activity of chemicals.

Irina Kurzina

TSU The head of the program, Doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, senior lecturer, Professor of faculty of physical and colloid chemistry of Chemistry Faculty, deputy Head of the Laboratory of Translational Cell and Molecular Biomedicine, Tomsk, Russia.
Areas of expertise include physicochemical regularities in the formation of nanoscale particles in surface and near-surface layers of metals and refractory compounds; research of physicochemical and structural properties of various kinds of materials; structural properties of nanomaterials; physicochemical processes on the surface of solids under the action of ion beams.
Speaks English, French and German. Within the Master’s program reads the course: Methods and approaches to surface modification of biocompatible polymers and composites based on them. Dissertation advisor.

Scientific interests: Cellular and molecular biology, immunology, oncology, virology, cardiovascular diseases, translational medicine, innovative diagnostics and therapy.

1) Biomedical technologies of control and diagnostics of cellular systems
2) Fundamentals of general immunology

6) entrance exams:

Tuition fee per year is 201 500 rub.
