The program provides training and research activities in applied mathematics, programming, information and communication technologies, computer systems, and networks.

Graduates of the bachelor program are highly qualified professionals in the field of IT ready for doing a number of activities, among which are: comprehensive research using methods of applied mathematics and computer technologies; development and application of modern mathematical methods and software for solving scientific problems; technology and management; using information technology in the fields of design, management, and finance.

During their studies, students will acquire theoretical knowledge in basic disciplines, such as mathematical analysis, discrete mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, equations of mathematical physics, optimization methods, programming languages and methods of translation, computer graphics, computer models and their application, administration of computer networks and systems, and computer data analysis. The total academic workload will enable them to modify existing software products and create new ones.

The success in the field of computer technologies is composed of three aspects: the combination of wholeness and versatility of mathematical models, the power of modern computer systems, and the effectiveness of the latest information technologies. IT expertise and rich experience in solving applied problems contribute to fostering skilled and high-demand professionals in scientific, design, engineering and technological companies, commercial organizations and banks, industrial enterprises, and institutions of higher education. All areas of modern society are seeing an increase in demand for professionals with background in IT, which guarantees that this program's graduates will find employment with good wages.

Compared with the pure mathematician, the applied mathematician is more interested in problems coming from other fields. Compared with the engineer and the physical scientist, he or she is more concerned with the formulation of problems and the nature of solutions. Compared with the computer scientist, he or she is more concerned with the accuracy of approximations and the interpretation of results. Applied mathematics, by its very nature, has occupied a central position in this interplay and has remained a field of fascination and excitement for active minds.
