Philology is the primary language science. In practical terms, this area of knowledge involves working with information texts. The 21st century sees a rising demand in professionals with advanced skills of processing information. This is why the program aimes to train bachelors with cross-functional skills that are achieved through theoretical training, research, and applied activities, where the key aspects are the language, the text, literature, and communication. These aspects are meant to further develop the tradition of humanities education in Russia, which relies on the balance of the theoretical and the practical, the fundamental and the applied. The program includes the study of complex linguistic, literary, and cultural disciplines, subjects of the psycho-pedagogical cycle, methods of teaching philological disciplines, and pedagogical training. The program aims to train students to do field-specific research, teach Russian language and a number of related philological disciplines, and give them a solid basis for continuing their studies as master and PhD students. The program is dedicated to deep study of the Russian language in its theoretical, practical, synchronous, diachronic, and social and cultural aspects; fiction literature and folk arts; different types of texts—written, oral, virtual; oral and written communication.
Required documents (to be submitted online):
1) copy of passport
2) copy of high school certificate/a registrar-issued transcript of grades for the last semester; upon arrival, students must provide the Admission Office with an original document
NOTE! documents received outside of Russia must be endorsed in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Russian Federation, or with an apostille (except when endorsement is not required by the legislation of the Russian Federation and (or) an international treaty)
3) certified translation of the diploma and the passport into the Russian language (can be submitted upon the arrival)
4) completed application form (https://admissions.tsu.ru/)
5) other diplomas and certificates proving any other achievements (if any)
6) entrance exams:
- written test in literature
- written test in Russian language proficiency
